Februarys song.

Not too satisfied with this one, but it is what it is... can't seem to get the last verse right.

Februarys Song

Februarys almond blossoms
the telltale sign of spring.
Winters fading quickly now
and with its end it brings

Jonquils breaking through the earth
with gently falling rain
renewal shows its just washed face
and hope is born again.

He rose. He rose. Believers say
and church bells freely ring.
Voices blend in harmony
but I can’t hear them sing.

My mind is filled with listening
to yesterdays now gone
how comforting the melody
of Februarys song

Ok I've decided on a picture

This should be challenging ....even this blog is proving to be challenging.. doesn't seem to be working right tonight.. don't want the text to be centered but evidently it wants to be right square in the middle and no matter how many times I click on align left... it goes right back to the middle. Phooey and darn. Oh well, it's late tonight and I am tired.. but tomorrow I will tackle this picture and I will write a poem to it. Have to.  Need to get my muse back.

What do three pink roses
five silver keys
one fat cat
and
a sock monkey
have in common?

This is what I have to figure out.. try to make some sense or nonsense out of this silly picture.

A fat gray cat
seems nonchalant
but I know he sees
and is waiting
for
just one move
from the organ grinders kid
and on him he will pounce
as if to say
the roses are the key
they're placed here just for me

Ugggg  can't get any inspiration from this picture..  just going to forget it for now and concentrate on something new.. J

February Poem

Each month we are to write a poem for the next month.. I'm behind a month but that's ok. I am just getting back to writing after more than three years. It's hard getting back, just think I used to write every day, even if it were a line or two, but now I am having difficulty even thinking of what to write. Once before I just couldn't think of a topic and so I started writing to a picture. Maybe I'll do that again. Good idea I think. J
A haiku is 17 syllables.. 5, 7, 5

the sun is shinning
but baby it's cold outside
not going out there

So comes the gray skies
the long cold days of winter
freezing my body

Ah, there's the sunset
over where the grass is green
way beyond the bridge
